The Monkees

Auditions were held in late 1965 for 4 guys to star as 'The Monkees'.  The chosen 4 were together from then till late 1968, when Peter Tork left the group. The rest of the band continued to tour North America, and in early 1970, Mike Nesmith quit.  Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones made one more Monkees album and officially broke up afterwards. Perhaps their most notable hit is "I'm A Believer".
